HISTORY

1950

In a small garage, the brothers Umberto, Nicola and Alessandro Bianchi begin a light mechanical industry business, and coin the trademark OMFB (Officina Meccanica Fratelli Bianchi) sdf.

1951

Begins manufacturing spare parts for Italian, American, English and German trucks wich are used for the massive post-war rebuilding effort. OMFB begins manufacturing power take-offs (PTO) for various type of trucks.

1954

The workspace soon becomes too small. The first real headquarters is built, measuring 500 mq. Production is subsequently expanded to include a small series of oil-hydraulic components designed to power tripper trucks, cranes, hook loaders, garbage trucks, etc. Our hand pumps is first created, in the version PM 50 and PM 70.

1967

A new 2000 mq production unit is inaugurated, structured in dedicted assembly lines. The DC/AC mini power pack expands the range of OMFB products.

1968

OMFB is present at the most important European industrial trade shows. Inital relations begin with the most important foreign markets.

1979

OMFB pursues the objective of product quality also by introducing the first NC machines.

1980

New challenges suggest a major turning point in the company system. Guidelines are defined to carefully review the entire manufacturing system: the 1967 headquarters is set aside for the assembly lines, while manufacturing is re-routed into a new separate space of 200 mq.

1991

The brand-new plants in inaugurated, with a surface area of 12000 mq + 3000 mq of office sapce. The gardual, planned replacement of all the manchinery begins, with the aim of replacing 90% of the existing fleet with innovative NC systems. The manufacturing, administration, management control, quality control, and sales system are now totally reoorganized.

1992

These efforts are rewarded: OMFB is the first Italian company in the industry to obtain ISO 9001 certification.

1999

The already comprehensive range of oil-hydraulic products fot industrial vehichles fully designed, built and inspected by OMFB is enhanced by a new family of piston pumps: the BENT AXIS pumps that enrich the popular DARK series of axis pumps and gear pumps in the range: NPH - NPGH - LTH - LTA. Today the BENT AXIS are alos available America standard flange.

2001

Located near to the highhway on via Romania 22/25. Omfb's new Modena branch is spread over 300 mq and its purpose is to serve the complex and demanding Emilia Romagna market more efficiently.

2002

OMFB introduces electronics in the control function for the power trasmission chain. Thus RADAR compact radio controls are born, as well as control kits. These include the KIP TRONIC: a complete electronic management device for the the tipper truck, wich received an award for its innovative technology when it was officially introduced during the 2002 Transpotec show.

2006

The Modena branch moves to larger headquarters.
Now located in Via Dalla Costa 243/c, in Torrazzi Modena, the new headquaters has a more efficient and functional layout covering 200 mq of office and 400 mq of well stocked warehouse facilities for a more professional service to the increasing needs of the local market.

2007

OMFB inaugurates a new automated underground warehouse with 5000 mq of space. This area includes a brand new production facility with numerous and more efficient machinery to meet the continuos and growing demand for our products.

2012

OMFB has archived a prestigious mlestone: its quality system has been certified by the DNV according to the new UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 and ISO/TS 16949:2009.

2015

OMFB acquires a majority share of DAL BARCO RENATO SRL, historical producer of oil and diesel tanks. This new synergy brings more strength to the already wide range of products and solutions offered to our customers.
